My original response to you is posted in its entirety above in this thread under: "Re: Tis the Season - Chronic (reposted by Webm.) Oct 12, '05 05:58"

It was reposted under CB's first post by the webmaster after there was a glitch when I tried posting it under your response to CB. Perhaps when this glitch occurred the last two paragraphs somehow didn't make it into the post that you read.

Whatever happened, this post of yours that I'm now responding to confuses me even more. First, here's what I reacted to from your first response to CB. You stated: "Christmas was generally a time that was pleasant to me in my abusive family of origin. Probably because EVERYBODY including us kids were consuming alcohol either in the form of brandied fruit, eggnog made with Bourbon, wine or other alcoholic beverages and at times all of the above.
Everyone was pretty mellow and so that even when it was tense it just didn't seem so bad."

You painted a rather idyllic Christmas scene where everyone was drinking alcohol but remaining mellow. I reacted to that with my own experiences and memories of alcohol. You then jumped on me for attacking you, and the next thing I know you're talking out of the other side of your mouth telling me all these horror stories from your past. You're angry with me for guessing or assuming that you "came from a responsible drinker family", but it was you who gave the impression in your first post that your family got mellow when they drank.

That's all that I was reacting to, nothing more, and I made that clear in my post.
