Apart from the techie stuff about how to set up the bulletin board youre going to need a set of Rules & Guidelines. for example see the Rules & Guidelines at the top of this board. that will allow you to regulate the kind of discussions you wish to happen & not happen on your board.
for eg. you are an exmember but do you want discussions about the COG/FOL cult to spill over onto your board when probably most of the posters who will gravitate to your board will have never been in the cult & won't care about those discussions? So you might want to write those boundaries right into your Guidelines so that if that starts happening, you have the rules in place already.
