There's a verse some of you Bible buffs will know about the rich man oppressing the poor man & the Bible says 'if the poor man calls out to Me AT ALL about it, I will avenge' - or words to that effect. The idea seems to be that if the poor man even so much as thinks, 'God stop this, help me! This isn't right' then God starts the wheels of justice moving, but that if the poor guy never thinks it's wrong or never prays or complains, nothing happens. Maybe God counts it as 'forgiving' if the poor man just takes it on the cheek with no complaint? 'whose sins ye forgive are forgiven & whose sins ye remit are remited'?
Is that why Jesus said to forgive when someone slaps your cheek? Cause if you don't pray, 'Father forgive them for they know not what they do,' then God is obliged by His law to do justice when maybe He'd rather work things out differently through forgiveness?
I've always wondered about that verse & why it said it the poor man cry out 'at all' - even just a little bit.
