Happy Halloween

Be like a Halloween pumpkin: a source of light on a dark night. As your family transforms a pumpkin into a decorative lantern, use the process to leach how we ourselves can be a better light source.

The Pumpkin Prayer

Dear God,

Open my mind so I can learn about You; (1 Cor. 2:16) (Cut the top of the pumpkin)
Take away all my sin and forgive me for the wrong things I do. (1
John 1:9)
(Clean out the inside)
Open my eyes so Your love I will see; (John 3:16)
(Cut the eyes out in heart shapes)
I’m so sorry for turning up my nose to all you’ve given me. (Prov.
13:10)
(Cut a nose in the shape of a cross)
Open my ears so your word I will hear. (Prov. 23:12) (Cut the ears shaped like the Bible)-we did rectangles

Open my mouth so I can tell others You’re near (Prov. 16:24) (cut the mouth in the shape of a fish)

Let Your light shine in all I say and do! Amen. When you try to think, act, see, listen and speak as Christ, “then your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, [andi it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you.” (Luke 11:36) (Place a candle inside and light it)
