I have not condemned anyone. If someone that states they are in TFI comes to this board to say it has basically changed and that his or her family (and most of their generation's families) by and large is a safe place to have kids, it is reasonable to expect that questions will be asked. When pertinent ones aren't answered that speaks louder than getting a PR reaction. Someone wisely (imo) stated - to paraphase them- that a person's frame of reference while in the family does not recognize abuse as abuse.

While this does not accuse anyone of "abuse" it is reasonable to ask questions to understand where the person is coming from.-As someone else pointed out, get to talking about what specific things constitute abuse in a person's mind, or what specific things are accepted as normal. The fact is that some of these questions have been avoided or turned back on the posters of the question(s).

Sometimes different ways of communicating have different effects. I think each person that posts here talks from their own experience and for some that might mean they get bothered, UNDERSTANDABLY. Some may ask questions to elicit THOUGHT, and others may want to make friends.

To tell the truth Lydia, there was a point where some of your responses to JS and disses to ex-mems also made me want to ask if you were thinkging of rejoining. I don't see it as lack of critical thinking to ask you that but more of a natural response to your comments to exers and your seeming need to speak for JS and tell me what he is thinking.

People whose lives have been greatly affected by the cult tend to have some emotions about it. That is not being paranoid or thinking about conspiracies. It is reasonable to question a person coming on to defend their TFI life when so much has happened recently to expose the nature of the BEAST.

We were, at least most of us that post here, at one time members ourselves so I don't think anyone is out to crucify current members that aren't serial pedophiles or Maria herself. At the same time, there is so much information out there via media and ex-member accounts from years ago to just months or weeks ago that TFI not only warrants investigation but people still in would do well to question why there is a need to affiliate oneself to someone they consider a bit dumb and send in a 14% tithe to it.
