This string of posts has elicited a couple memories. My first encounter with a German member was in '72 or '73 when I German hitchhiker joined the Canadian home I was in. I'm not sure if he stayed in TF once he returned to Germany. However, my most vivid memory of meeting German members was when my then wife, step-son and I were in Penang, Malaysia in the summer of '83. Previous to landing there we had been on our own in Canada for two years raising funds to go to the mission field. Arriving in Penang was a culture shock on several levels, including returning back to communal living. The home we were in was used as a sort of rooming house where members coming from Thailand on visa trips (that's a whole 'nother aspect of TF's criminal nature)could stay for a few days, so there were always new faces showing up.
One day I was sitting on the couch reading when a German threesome arrived from Bangkok. As they entered the room I remained seated, but tilted my head back and to the right to greet them. The next thing I new, one of the women was sloppily french-kissing me. It was disgusting, not because I don't like french-kissing, but because this was a complete stranger and I felt violated. She literally locked lips with me and it was all I could do to break loose from her. I mean, I really had to struggle to break free from her. I remember feeling great displeasure at that, but she just laughed. I recall that sex seemed to be their whole world.
Though that was the first time I had encountered a threesome, it wasn't the last encounter with that particular one. A couple months later we were on our way to Macau via Bangkok. We stayed in a home there for several days arranging our flight. One night the home was having a romance night, I think they called it. That was the first time we had ever been involved in something like that. It wasn't a come-union, more like a dance with everyone pairing off and disappearing. My wife and I were just passing through so didn't want to get involved with it, at least I didn't as I was uncomfortable with the whole atmosphere and had a jealous streak. That German threesome was there and they were very sexually aggressive. At one point the husband grabbed my wife and stuck his tongue down her throat right in front of me, just like one of his wives had done to me.
By relating this I'm not suggesting all German members were like this. My suspicion at the time, with not much to compare it to in Canada, was that TF in Thailand was more sexualized than other places and I thought that explained the German threesome's behaviour.
