Boy, I can sure relate to what you're talking about playing "catchup". I don't kick myself for being behind my peers, like no savings and no retirement plan. I just know that that's where I'm at and I'm very, very busy trying to stop just treading water and get ahead a bit financially. No, we don't own our own home either, though I know other exers who do, so it can be done.
Like you, I just take one day at a time and don't plan on retiring when I'm 65. I know that we here in the West, though we're strugging, are doing so much better than most people in the world. What about exmembers who leave the Family in 3rd world countries and have to earn a living and make up for lost time? They really have it rough.
