No Berg got it wrong...the Family is the sinking ship... the "backsliders" were off living in the real world.
As for all the "classes" on the ship... like in the Family there's FD (the top - Family Diciple), MM (Missionary Member - 2nd rank), FM (Fellow Member - 3rd class) and then Activated Member and so on...
BUT THEY ARE ALL ON THE SAME SINKING SHIP...
