Your response shows me that you had in fact accepted much of the research by Dean Gotcher concerning group-think programs and the serious concerns he raised about those issues. That part however was missing from your critique. It appears that you allowed your emotions to rule your response rather than stick to the facts presented. It is very difficult to maintain a fact based discussion if anger, fear, or a flee response rules the day. I for one do not want you to take your ball and go home. You are teaching me things about analysing writings for deceptive logic and cult like trends and you are also forcing me to look at flaws in myself that I might not otherwise perceive. I do not believe that I am the only Christian around, however I do know that presently a large percentage of believing Christians are fast asleep at the switch. Been there done that! The whole purpose of this discussion board is to recover from the faith destroying effects of the COG-Family experience. The Word of God is the source of that faith so how is possible to recover apart from such? There is power in God's Word to restore us to health. There is power there to totally transform us and heal every spiritual wound, and I would be deceiving you if I didn't tell you so. It is not always an easy thing to look at ourselves in the reflection of God's Word, but that is an essential part of God's healing and restoration process. Please take the time to read through the New Testament. (KJV) You have nothing to lose, but everything to gain.
I am praying for you and I get answers to my prayers, so I can't be the great sinner, that I may appear to some, to be.
