As far as calling the "Chronicles of Narnia" sexist, remember they said the same thing about "Lord of the Rings" because Tolkien gave such small parts to women. The movie version corrected and clarified the books on that somewhat. For e.g. the romance between Arwen and Aragorn didn't even exist in the books, and was only random notes in the glossary and end-notes, but Peter Jackson brought it out so that it made sense. I remember first reading the books and in the end when Aragorn got together with Arwen, I was surprised and wondered, "Where did that come from?" I guess Tolkien was a creature of his times, but still, he could have brought out women quite a bit more and improved his books.
