Thanks for that article Farmer. You know, what certain theologians in the Roman Catholic church are trying to do, rehabilitating the image of Judas Iscariot, reminds me very much of Berg's stance on Judas. Berg would practically foam at the mouth at Family members who left ("backslid") and began to expose ("fight") the Family, calling them demon-possessed and Satanic. That's because they were fighting HIM.
Yet at the same time Berg had great sympathy and understanding and compassion for Judas, who betrayed Jesus. I guess Berg thought more of himself than he did Jesus. Judas can betray Jesus to his worst enemies, resulting in Jesus' death, and poor Judas, he simply made a blunder of the mind, but after all, he was still saved. But let Deborah David write a book exposing Berg and he denounces her as "demon-possessed," someone who never knew God and was unsaved, the TRUE Judas.
Why was Berg so soft on Judas? Remember how Berg said Jeanne Dixon was a true prophetess of God? That's because he sent Family members to tell her that the serpent that wrapped itself around her and hypnotized her in a vision was not good (as she orginally wrote in her book that it was), but that it was the AC ... and Jeanne Dixon received Berg's advice and changed her stance. Since the "little prophetess" listened to "God's big prophet" Jeanne Dixon became an authoritative voice, in Berg's mind, on spiritual and psychic matters.
That's why Berg could so passionately advocate using Jeanne Dixon's "Sunsigns" booklet. But in her sunsign book, Dixon assigned an astrological sign to each of the 12 apostles, including Judas, whom was said was Pisces. So she had to do major work to rehabilitate and "explain" Judas' fishy motives in order so that all the Pisces around the world could accept that Judas was a good example of a Pisces. I thing Berg simply bought Jeanne Dixon's line, cause what she preached, HE ended up preaching.
