Considering the fact that Jesus' crucifixion was carried out on a charge of treason against the Roman empire, I think it's easy to confuse Christian acts of charity with political activism.
It seems to me that "no political discussion" policy (which I agree with & largely support) can be used to hamper discussion of Jesus' teachings on the kingdom of God. Perhaps because there is so much overlap between those teachings and the political loyalties stirred up by "kingdoms of men"? While I understand reasons for the ban on politics, I hope the coordinators will appreciate that there is a difference between discussing theological ideas with political implications (e.g., the meaning of "kingdom of God") and actually discussing current events and national policies.
