Dear OT2,
I will take heed of your suggestion to think more, you are giving me a lot to think about. Meanwhile, I will address only one simple point that it was in my initial comments about miracles, our perception of miracles and and the effect of those perceptions in my own faith. As I rumble acrosswords to form sentences I am trying to gain some form of generalization to others but I find it difficult because we are so different from each other. In spite of much that makes us similar, we (and here I am answering your question as to what rhetorical meaning the "we" I use has), humans, are very different as well.
Maybe your faith is strong and view my questioning as vain "philosophical assertions". Maybe my faith is weak and I ask. I'd rather think I am pondering. It is a matter of perspectives, I believe.
My main objective is not to convince you or anybody of anything but of dealing with the questions with others who, like you, may object to my reasoning. One thing is to be in error, another is to be far away from the truth. I may be in error and also far away from the truth, but I am trying to make sure the little I have learned has as little error as possible. I cannot understand the whole of God but I have learned to accept it even in my questioning.
Just because my father does something I don't understand doesn't mean he is not my father.
Your email has so much that maybe we can continue them in other threads. Thank you for taking the time to answering.
