Mark,I was so happy when you appeared here, simply because you shared right from the beginning, that you're so thankful to have then found Jesus.I was getting used to it, that many others here seemed to have given faith in Jesus a "pause", a break...although, I must admit, it made me sad.
I could understand the SGAs who suffered lots & were "forced" into believing...(recently I read something, which struck me: forced love creates
hate, forced faith creates unbelief...)

On top of that, if I remember right, you shared, that you're of Jewish background?!I have a book about messianic Jews, all testimonies how they came to believe in Jesus & it was astonishing, how many weren't witnessed to by any "old" believer, any Christians, but just got some marvellous initiative to conversion apparently from headquarters ; ) Although it is quite a "risk" still for your relationship with relatives to witniss/profess you faith in Christ?!

Right now I make another bigger effort to get to know about the circumstances which led to the Shoah...the atrocities caused by the Germans in world war 2 & even before that...the factors which led to that...Goldhagen also wrote a book about the involvement of the Catholic Church...I have it, but need time to read it.I have books about the antisemitic rants of Luther...terrible.
They say he was frustrated, that they didn't get converted on a bigger scale...but I have even a paper, supposedly stating the result of a study of the Hebrew University in Israel, thinking those rants to be forgeries.Critics say though, that those rants are in too many books of Luther included, & also in very old versions...how should one forger should get them all in there...would be a matter of a huge conspiracy to malign Luther....anyway, it's a deep, also sadening matter...

Oh, regarding your question...no, I am not a farmer by profession, but I love nature & think like you to work with it is very healing and edifying.I chose the word, because it's the meaning of my first name, when I appeared here on the chatboard, there was already a poster George, that would have been the English rendering of my rather upper/NorthGerman name Jürgen...Before I joined I had bought the book Walden, written ages ago by Thoureau (spelling?)...that book was en vogue by the hippies. He learned to live of the plot of land he got himself...knowing no farming beforehand(that I remember)...

Last year I thought to spent my later pensionist time on a plot of land. But I have little reserves (even with some inheritance of my mother which wouldn't get anywhere here)...especially since I want my kids to profit from it first of all. However I liked the idea so much of living somewhere in the south, that - after being on MyBulgaria.com - I even visited Bulgaria last year on a short trip (one day!) to see what those cheap houses & lands there are like.
So I am happy, that you can be closer to God's lovely nature. My sister & brother in law, who travelled the States, say nature is awesome there.
I liked, that you still made it overland to India. Before joining that was actually one of my dreams too... I made it by plane then ; )

Wish you all His best...Jürgen

Thanks for expressing your appreciation for my post...the subject is so vast, I am glad that I didn't make it as long and boring as I was once able to do...
