PRIESTS AND PROPHETS UNDER THE NEW COVENANT:
page 97.........
"Three months after being miraculously delivered from Egypt, the children of Israel arrived at Mt. Sinai. Through Moses God declared His intentions to them:
Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you
shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. And
you shall be to me a KINGDOM OF PRIESTS and a holy nation(Ex.19:5-6)
The people were instructed to prepare for the day when God would speak in such a way that each one of them would hear his voice. They sanctified themselves and gathered at the foot of the mountain on the third day. That morning the thunder and lightning began, and a thick cloud descended upon the mountain. Whe the Lord descended upon Sinai in fire, the smoke went up like the smoke of a furnace and the mountain quaked. Heavenly trumpets began to blow and continued for a long time growing louder and louder.
Apparently, all the people heard the voice of God as He proclaimed to them the Ten Commandments. Here is how the people then responded:
Now all the people witnessed the thunderings, the lightning flashes, the sound of
the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled
and stood afar off.
Then they said to Moses, "You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God
speak with us, lest we die" (Ex.20:18-19)
That is the last timethat God spoke in an audible voice to the people as a whole. From then on he used prophets and priests as mediators between Himself and the chosen people. But it was clearly God's purpose from the beginning for the children of Israel to function eventually as a kingdom of priests, and kingdom in which every person had the direct access to God in hearing His voice.
God's purpose for His people, that they should be a kingdom of priests, was fulfilled in the New Covenant. In his first epistle, Peter called the saints a holy and royal priesthood(IPet2:5,9). John wrote to the seven churches: "[Jesus] has made us to be kings and priests to His God and Father"(Rev.1:5). In his vision, John also heard these words in in the new song sung to the Lamb by the four living creatures: "[You] have made us kings and priest to our God; and we shall reign on the earth" (Rev.4:10)
In the New Covenant, we are priest because the veil has been removed, and we each have direct access to God, to the throne of grace(Heb.4:16). We need no man or priest to intercede for us because Christs Himself is our constant mediator (1Tim.2:5).
In the same way, we do not need to have someone seek God for us in the way that Saul asked the prophet Samuel to inquire of God on his behalf. In the New Covenant, we can do that for ourselves.
Jeremiah prophesied about a New Covenant in which each person had tha ability to hear from God through the indwelling Holy Spirit:
Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant
with the house of Israel and with the house of Juday---not according to the covanant
that I made with their fathers(Jer.31:31-32a).
I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God,
and they shall be my people. No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and
every man his brother, saying, "Know the Lord," for they all shall know Me, from the
least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord(vv.33a)
In the Old Covenant priestly and prophetic ministries: 1) the calling was reserved for a select few; 2) the requirements were clear and unmistakably defined (the priest's duties were spelled out in detail and the prophets received direct revelation); and 3) the judgment upon them was severe. Prophets were put to death (Deut.18:18-22) and the priest died in the presense of the Lord if the sacrifice was unacceptable (Lev.10:1-3)
The New Covenant is different. The emphasis of Peter's sermon in Acts 2 was that sons and daughters, old men and young men, menservants and maidservants---ALL were going to prophesy in this New Covenant because of the outpouring of the Spirit. Instead of a limited few, everyone is a priest, and the gift of prophecy is diffused through the entire body. Instead of the direct, audible-voice-of-God revelation, much prophetic ministry is imparted by impressions of the Holy Spirit upon our own hearts. Instead of stoning prophets, we are instructed to judge and discern that which they speak, to know if it is from God.
In the generations that followed the beginning of the church, some appeared to revert to the Old Testament understanding of the priesthood. This not only ROBBED(my emphasis) an essential truth of the gospel from the church, but it EMPOWERED THE PRIEST TO AN ELEVATED POSITION THAT BECAME TO SOME A CORRUPTING INFLUENCE(my emphasis,Judy)"

Berg went from Uncle Dave, to Moses, to King David, to the Key of David, to END TIME PROPHET OF GOD. And I am not remembering all of them. And of course Maria and Daviditio were supposed to be the two endtime prophets, there is one that didn't come true).
Now she calls herself Mother Maria. Whatever. SHE HAS ELEVATED HERSELF TO A POSITION OF CORRUPTING INFLUENCE TOO.
TALK ABOUT USURPING AUTHORITY. I just want people to understand that what Berg did in exhaulting himself the way he did IS WAY OFF BASE SCRIPTURALLY.
First of all any prophesy he gave should HAVE BEEN DISCERNED SPIRITUALLY BY OTHER MEMBERS OF LEADERSHIP IN THE CHURCH. Well, we all know what happened to anyone who CHALLENGED BERG'S AUTHORITY.
The cult is about TOTAL ABUSE OF AUTHORIY AND ABUSE OF PROPHESY. It is demonic to the core.
The dumb part is that the people who follow this leadership have ABDICATED their own GOD GIVEN RIGHTS. It is a weakness in humans to want to have someone tell them what to do, so they don't have to think for themselves, and pray, and take responsible for themselves, and made their own informed decisions. It takes work to research and study (to show yourself approved) to make good decisions. And you can't even make a good informed decision when you are under INFORMATION CONTROL, which is a MIND CONTROL TACTIC. When you allow yourself to be under information control you are allowing YOUR MIND AND SPIRIT TO BE TAKEN CAPTIVE BY THOSE WHO ARE FEEDING YOU THE INFORMATION.
It is a HARD LESSON TO LEARN when you damage your life, the lives or your children, and all the people you influence in your life. God help you to SEEK OUT THE TRUTH. Judy
