Observer:

I'm sorry you don't believe it. But, of course, my experience is not at the mercy of your unbelief--it really happened the way I said it did--a long story, but it was about a pre-arranged "visit" to a girlfriend in New Orleans, while I was in Denton, Texas; unsaved and involved in spiritism & occult stuff.

I am glad to hear that prayer entered into the picture, during your experience.

I have had many, many experiences, both from God, and from demons masquerading as "angels of light"; over the years.

The most heavily deceptive ones were ALSO "fantastic."--they were BOTH pre-TF, and DURING-TF. The DURING-TF ones were never consistent.

In TF, I sat around like a goof for several hours, after asking Jesus to duplicate Mo's experience of supposedly traveling to "New Jerusalem". Nothing happened. Duh.

I assume that that is because I actually asked the REAL Jesus about Mo's veracity--a "Berean" attitude is what led me eventually out of TF.

I say that if the "Christology" surrounding the experience wasn't strictly Biblical, it was demonic; period, the end.

There are, as you pointed out, demonic NDEs (Near-Death Experiences), as well as the reported "Carol Ann--Go to the light!" type of Poltergeist movie fame. The scary ones are hardly EVER publicized, but exist in great number.

The body without the spirit is D-E-A-D; dead. A vision/NDE may not be discernible in its nature even when it IS from God, as Paul said in his "in the body or out; I know not" experiencce.

Pretty murky stuff.

What was your "of God" experience like, in this regard?

Sincerely,
OT2 (OldtimerToo)
