I like some of the Jewish sayings because it is comforting to me. I don't look at them concretely and try to analyze it all cause that would drive me crazy! Or crazier..lol.
The applications of that saying are what is meaningful to me.
What that one means to me is not going on patrol to see if someone might drown and then I get my quota in by pulling them to shore. oh and of course they would have to be breathing or I would have to successfully revive them..

Instead, for me it is about a way of acting and thinking to be a part of humanity by being involved in easing suffering or helping your neighbor in need when you can.

Maybe it is to join an organization like the ONE campaign, or to support a charity (not the Family of course, or anything like them) that you know does work to improve life for others.

It's about being part of a force for healing and good rather than disconnected. I like that. The fact that the saying "to save one life is to save the world" is comforting. It acknowledges how important every SINGLE life is.

Just like at these exer boards, we can encourage each other or we can take jabs at each other trying to tear each other down or one up each other with a more profound point of view.

I think the best that can be done for survivors of the cult here is to support each other and if we are not doing that then what is the point?
