Mark, some things do remain essentially simple despite the textual issues I've addressed. I hope you weren't quoting that verse in reference to me, that in addressing these issues my mind has become corrupted from the simple message which is in Christ. That these are valid issues does not disturb my faith. Jesus was a real person who lived & died & came back to life, despite a few slips of the pen by all-too-human Jewish scribes.
My own wife would probably agree with you, though. She isn't interested much in these kind of details, just on living the life. Well, we're all different.
