For one, Klaus is not a legitimate Family member, and two, if he was a Family member, Klaus could not tell Family leaders to forgive as they would reject such 'stupid' counsel as being against the spirit of David, & would then persecute & humiliate & excommunicate Klaus.
Klaus only preaches that message to us because we will not hurt him.
