Moonshiner:

Hmmm. Intersting line of reasoning the author of the article you quoted puts out!

I suppose that Berg could also ascribe to the "ethos" of being "a political organizer interested in a variety of social-justice issues", as well.

Wait a minute! He did!

1. He pretended to be a radical reformer, the "hippest of the hip", and spoke the street language of young people who wanted to be counterculture change agents; the idealists among those who only wanted "sex, drugs, and rock and roll":

2. He certainly organized his "provisioners & PR people" to PRETEND they were "trying to help kids off drugs, to serve Christ", do other good social works, etc.

If you had a cause, he'd pretend to ascribe to it, but only if he could be your "false apostle", who would be allowed to "enslave or take advantage of you...slap you in the face/insult you...", "...in greed, and with fabricated words, ...exploit you", and as a "...false prophet...secretly bring in [a]destructive, heretical sect", and "...arrogantly use nonsense to seduce people by appealing to their sexual desires, especially to sexual freedom", and although TF does "...promise freedom to everyone...[Berg's followers]...are merely slaves of filthy living, because people are slaves of whatever controls them." See 2Cor 11, and 2Pe 2.

So, Berg created his own "practical atheists", who made, and still make, claim to the name Christian, but, because of their way of life are, in all practical sense, actual atheists.

Hmm.
