I think this is going to be a hot button issue and I want to be on the up and up before people start telling me "what the bible says."
If nothing else, those of us in TF who experienced this can attest to its devastating effects on the children and the family unit as a whole. I can't think of one (except for Cancion) situation where the people stayed together and it worked for them. However, even if the couple(s) could reconcile the inherent problems associated with such a relationship, they have to think about how it affects the children. Once you start on that path, you end up with such things akin to wife-swapping (or swinging which is very popular these days), and/or a truly patriarchal society such as in Islam, i.e, Osama bin Laden's father sired 52 children from 22 wives. Of course, in that society, only the rich are able to afford so many wives. I know they didn't all live together so do you think he spent much time with his children? I kind of doubt it- and the Mormon sect that indoctrinates prepubescent girls to marry at such tender ages as 14 or 13. This will only take us back to the stone ages.
