That opening reminds me of the message drilled into my head in the cult about how I was nothing, no good only God was good. It presents a God that sees the earth and it's inhabitants as his playground to wipe out at will. When I was an atheist it is how I though about God if there was one.
Now, in my personal approach, my God is very different and very personal. But characteristics are: Creative, loving, not someone who wants me on my knees before HIM, has a sense of humor, is spirit and not in one body but can appear in anybody or any body and is in nature and beauty as well as in animals. Above all is SAFE.
After the family, is there room for other perspectives here, or does it have to be Christianity minus Berg to count. Already, any person who is Islamic is not welcome here. Atheists aren't too popular. I guess what I believe would be heresy here? I thought it was supposed to be FREE here to discover spirituality after the Family regardless of what path it takes a person down? If I am wrong correct me here because if it is solely for Christians sorting out the past and saving what they want or creating a whole new Christian walk then I won't come back around.
By the way, I never knocked Christianity here at all.
