Nice treatise, but where's the beef? By that I mean, what are the Islamic pacifist groups doing these days to reduce the suffering caused by violence & injustice? Do such groups even exist?

The Koran teaches peace--I'll buy that. What I want to know is what Islamic groups teach and practice nonviolent resistence, do consciousness raising activities, or offer conflict resolution services as an expression of their interpretation of the Koran? What's the name of the Islamic sect or group or educational center concerned with turning the Koranic peace precepts into public policies and practices in Muslim countries?

I haven't been able to find an example of Islamic peacemaking practices or Islamic groups specifically dedicated to a ministry of peacemaking. All I've seen are statements, like the link you've provided, about how the Koran teaches peace.
