but the whole world also has good history and good news.
After the cult, I have to say I went through many many difficulties but now that much time and adjustment pain is blood under the bridge, there is a lot of good news.
One thing is that my children are doing well and I have a good connection with them. I am happy to say I went with my eldest SG survivor of the cult (left when around 8 yrs old) to visit a historical site out of town. It was a 400+ mile round trip and we had a blast. We went in his brand new SUV fully loaded with Navigator, OnStar, DVD screens and earphones front and back. He will be going on vacation for a week to Vegas then to a Carribean resort in July.
Every moment of blood under the bridge -hardships after leaving the Family- was worth it. Another is about to go to the west coast working for a prestigious firm. All are doing well after having many hard times.
I say this because getting OUT was the best decision I ever made and when things looked hopeless and this includes forays into experimentations with drugs, alcohol, wild life and survival the PAST is overcome with GOOD NEWS.
It took TIME but I encourage everyone thinking of getting out of the PIT (TF) to not be scared off by horror stories of what will happen to you if you do. The chances of experiencing a horror story are much higher the longer you stay in the Family. That's my opinion for what it is worth.
My hope is that not one more generation will be in bondage to the ultra controlling queen of disaster who wants to infantalize people by having them call her "mama". That's sick.
For all of us that have left, regardless of our differences, I want to say I hope I can be an encouragement to you while visiting this board because of our common journey through the valley of death and release from that bondage. ;)
