The people who left, left because they were made to feel uncomfortable for stating their belief systems. This coming out of a segment of people claiming to be tolerant of all views.
Perfect example is by you telling me I am in lala land and have no critical thinking because my views do not reflect your views, and then you go on to accuse me of being in some sort of war machine. A way of belittling me as sort of back-handed way of making a person feel that their viewpoints are irrelevant and useless. So be it. Think that way then. It shows me a lot about you too. Good luck in life, that's all I hope for for anyone.
