I guess you're right. And perhaps Baigent attempts a fuller job of selling his hypothesis in his book. Just looking at what the article presented, however, it doesn't hold together well.

BTW, one thing Baigent is right about, & which I hope the court vindicates him on, is that Dan Brown clearly 'lifted' his ideas when writing the Da Vinci Code. Brown cleverly tried to give Baigent 'credit' by an anagram in the name of Sir Leigh Teabing but clearly that is not enough. With the many millions Brown's book has earned based in part on Baigent's ideas, covert credit is not enough. Brown owes Baigent open credit & some serious cash.
