Jesse, I'll agree that many churches are somewhat boring and dead. My wife and I only very sporadically attend a church, even tho it's a good one. But I think that lots of churches are really alive and that sometimes it's our residual Mo-implanted thoughts against "system churches" that make us think so negatively of them.
Think of it: lots of good, sincere, honest, ethical folks you know probably attend a church of some kind. These churches may not be as exciting as a theme park but they are meeting a genuine need in these people's lives. And they're not polluting the pure waters with "stange truths" like Mo did.
Many of us are so burned out on over-religiousness and religious weirdness and control that we have a kneejerk reaction against ordinary, helpful honest people. I confess I've still got some of that in me, but a lot of that has been worked out of my system by now. Do you find any of this is true in your case?
For example, you want to start a radio ministry, which is very admirable. But almost every single radio Christian ministry that exists iin the world today was started and is funded by people who attend churches you and I might consider pretty boring and inactive.
Sometimes I wonder if we're measuring people and their places of worship with the wrong stick?
