Over time I have noticed people coming on different ex-member sites to defend the Family and one of the common themes is that exposing a star ministry will make the people exposing them responsible for children being hurt and members being hurt that are in some cases scratching along to make ends meet.
It is not a perspective that a grown adult would normally take, but it is an immature response of someone who belongs to a cult where thought processes have been rearranged and stifled.
In reality the quicker a person can realize that actions have consequences, and covering up where funds honestly go, using ends to justify the means or following doctrines that are uncomfortable and thinking that uncomfortable feeling is the devil rather than conscience, if you give yourself over to them believing it to be obeying God and thus further having healthy self destroyed, those are the reasons children are being hurt. Those are the reasons that people scratching by or people who are more successful may lose their ministries. Not because of the good they do but because of the DECEIT and the sick doctrines that have to be hidden or creating umbrella orgs which deny association with those doctrines for "security reasons" and because outsiders just "won't understand".
This thinking is not unique to the Family. It has happened to cults around the world. Those exposes are CONSEQUENCES of CULT LIFE.
If you are reading this as a family member or a family friendly associate member, you may want to think about where your life will be, not just on a daily basis but as life progresses. Sit down and THINK about what your life will be like in 5 yrs, 10 yrs, 20 yrs etc.
You may believe with all the current events that the endtime is here. I believed it when I was recruited to the Family and this was used to create an urgency of purpose and fear of the world. Second generation youth are now on the verge of middle age in some cases. If it was really the endtime, wouldn't it be cruel to keep reproducing?
No one can know for sure, but do you want your kids to learn the names of channeled protectors some of which are names of cartoon characters?
Do you want to be led by someone so flawed who has been involved in pre-meditated downing of others because they were not approved of for purely selfish and personal reasons?
Berg hurt women that rejected him or his chosen leaders. He hurt husbands that were reluctant to "share" Many lost lives because of the doctrines and lifestyle or longer term results of it.
Do you want your children to grow up the same? Look to the long term. Do you want to shun your children if they choose not to follow the family? Do you want to be shunned by them if you choose to leave?
The more time you invest the harder it will be to get out and the more damage that will be done.
I know you think Satan himself must be speaking out of this "backslider's" mouth. But I have seen so many people who were near the top turn away. There's a good reason. It's a destructive cult and the damages that may be done by TFI ministries (by multiple names) that may be damaged or discontinued will be the fault of following your faith which is built on a corrupt and predatorial foundation.
For anyone still in I hope you get help. It's a process to get out of the Family and then to get that twisted thinking out of you and to deal with the wreckage of wasted yrs and losses.
