Aren't you anlyzing it a bit much? The point is it is a contemporary story of the prodigal son. There is no social science involved in the story. I relate to it not because of my past, but for the Father's Love for me who had and has waiting arms for me especially when I was off the track in an anti-Christ cult. The whole point is God loves us. It's not rocket science. Why did the original Prodigal son leave his father's house?
