What does the rest of the song say? In what context is it written in? The class that this parable was in my book was in Biblical Hermeneutics. To put that in a few words is first reading scripture in the historical context it was origanally written in. Yousse what the writer said to the people in his or their town and time. You then look for what it is saying theologically, and then bridge the gap between their town and bring it to your own town to see what it says today. At the same time it must be kept in context adhering to what the original Greek and Hebrew meaning was. It was a very interesting study, especially after TF when all scripture was taken out of context and brought to Berg's town. I just started yesterday my Corinthians class which goes along the same lines. The class is really cool.
