An individualistic society is by definition a loosely composite of individuals. Individuals get together or separate at will. I hope you can agree with that. This points out to the fact that the glue to pull people towards a common goal is weak.
On the other hand, "The desire of each one to want to be a king" is the result of that individualistic force within that relegates communal needs to the background and benefits the individual's needs. In other words, there is little regards for the needs and interests of others and of the community at large.
One idealistic Christian interpretation is that one of "lay down your life for the brethren..." And then there are sub interpretations beyond that to even make distinctions. I would call that splitting a hair that has already been split once or twice before.
The philosophical core is in the separation of what we now know as protestantism from the Catholic church of Rome. That brought in the doctrine of personal interpretation, and the extent to which now has expanded is in part behind all the multiple variations - one of which is the perverted doctrines David Berg broght as foundations of TFI.
