All I can say is that the United Methodist church I go to recently sponsored public marriages in protest to a certain administration's policy against gays. There was a UMC minister, a rabbi and ministers from other faiths that performed ceremonies on church grounds even though they are not recognized officially in the state. That is active recognition of homosexuality as legitimate and accepted by the church.
Not only that but the heterosexual therapist I see was talking about Washington DC and how relaxed the gay community was there in that they were not reserved about showing affection with each other just as hetero's do in public. She thought it was beautiful. It's nice to know that you don't have to be gay to accept it as a normal yet minority variation of sexuality.
I realize you consider it sin but many people do not. I don't know why people in general are so obssessed with the issue when it doesn't concern them. Why would anyone be threatened by who a person is attracted to as long as it is consenting adults? It is not like there is a need to replenish the earth or that there aren't billions of people actively doing so.
Her experience in DC made me think because I live in a more conservative area where there is reasonable fear of being targeted for innocent displays of affection.
I am not judging you are your viewpoint but just discussing this because there are a number of ex-members, again a clear minority, who are gay or lesbian.
I think it is harder to be a gay man in some ways because of the societal need to torment men if they are in any way effeminate in nature though certainly all gay men are not effeminate.
DB was for bisexuality but did not want a woman to be intimate exclusively with other women. I think that kind of control by other people is sick.
