I wouldn't see it as counter productive because I wouldn't see myself needing to convince you that I am right and you are wrong. Even if the bible had a whole book about the dangers of homosexuality I would chalk it up to that writer's personal prejudice or internal struggle with coming to terms with their own orientation.
What I think is good about the thread is that for anyone reading who is having trouble coming to terms with their sexuality or who might have children that are homosexual they won't need to feel like there is only one way this subject is viewed here. It might even help someone if they are struggling with this.
Hey, thanks for praying for me and I mean that. I don't need it for my orientation though because I am not in denial about what it is.
If there is anything you want to ask since you are writing a paper, you are welcome to ask.
Since your paper is about homosexuality and you are likely interested in studying both sides of the coin in order to have a balanced paper you might want to contact P-FLAG (Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) and go to a few of their meetings. I would really like to hear your impression of that if you were to go.
Regardless of what you choose, I do appreciate your discussing this with me in a civil manner. ;)
