I was responding to the thread in general as well as thinking of others posted by many in the past on a similar subject and I was relating to it.
I don't know why my comments are puzzling to you. I know I am not the only one to have that perspective. Still, I don't expect you or anyone else to have the same perspective as mine though yours may be similar in some ways.
I think that many things factor in when it comes to people either leaving or staying in a cult. I don't think it is as simple as knowing there are wrongs and deciding to leave though. I think it takes getting out of it and away from it for some time for people to start thinking rationally.
I look at Tom Cruise and his need to promote Scientology. There is so much press about Scientology and yet people that are hardliners are still in full force and they have much more exposure to outside influences than the typical family member has.
