Last week I did a Power Point Presentation in my Ministerial Ethics class, which basically focused on ethical viruses and what, where, and how TF was and is unethical, maily on the subject of fidelity and infidelity. Below is what I had on my first slide. When I read this quite from the book Ethical Dilemmas in Church Leadership my first thought was "Who does this sound like?" The presentation went well, my professor said it was powerful, and I received some good comments from my classmates. I basically got down to some nitty gritty, and personal experience. It was fun to do.
In the course of church history, this Christian ethic based on instructed love has suffered from constant twisting and warping in every possible direction. That is, some have so severely warped the basic love ethic of the Bible that they have really moved outside the realm of what can rightly be called Christian. In considering the Judeo-Christian ethic, some people unconsciously (and consciously) allowed “viruses” to make their way into the love Christ displayed to His disciples and followers. Michael R.
