Christians in the first centuries tried to abstain from certain jobs like serving in the army...for those converted within the army, I don't remember how the counsel was, but the general tendency seems clear, rather being a help in the life of others then to take someones life...some exceptions could be said for those who became a reproach for the cause of Christ, like the one in Corinth, where Paul seems not to mind the death of the "delinquent", unless he'd repent before...death through Satans powers & not through the active assistance of the church in that case, the way I understand it.
In many ways I also pondered about the jobs I could take, if they were "ethically" alright.
