To the Coordinator

Could you please give me an explanation as to why you deleted a post I addressed to you in response to your post titled "I'd like to end this conversation here."

I find it quite odd that you allowed Achieck to continue on with her snide remarks as she insisted on having the last word, yet when I tried to explain myself to you, the reasons why I was so upset, you deleted that post on Achieck's insistance. Perhaps you have not read all the posts closely, but what started all this is that Acheick turned my use of one word, "amazes", into a vicious personal attack, calling me a liar, putting words in my mouth, ascribing opinions to me that I don't hold, and generally ridiculing and disrespecting me. Moreover, some of her friends joined in the gang-up. All of these are direct violations of your rules yet you have not censured (not to be confused with censored) her in anyway. Instead, you chose to censor me by deleting my post, which I don't think violated any rules. What gives? It sure seems to me like a double standard.

This is not just a difference of opinions. Acheick made this personal by directly disparaging my character. She could have, like another poster did, simply responded to my initial post by pointing me to websites that provide arguments for a literal interpretation of Genesis, or at least make those arguments herself, but she didn't. Instead, she thought it was necessary to launch into a personal attack against me, and her buddies joined in the action.

If you care to do a search of my posts I think you will be hard pressed to find any wherein I was deliberately trying to pick a fight with Christians here. More often than not, I have had civil conversations with them. For example, I recall a brief conversation I had with Alan during all the DaVinci Code debates that took place here awhile back. He and I have extremely differing world views, yet when he responded to the arguments in one of my posts on the subject he simply offered a website that offered counter-arguments to mine. And I responded politely by thanking him for the link and that I would check it out. End of conversation. Acheick, on the otherhand, has taken it upon her self to challenge me not with rational arguments, but with ad hominem arguments, false accusations and deriding comments that don't address the issue at hand, but instead attack my character.

It seems to me that you might have an itchy trigger finger when it comes to deleting posts simply because someone with an agenda asks you to. Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I have no way of knowing because you deleted me without explanation. Perhaps what you should delete are all of Acheick's posts in which she violates this board's rules.
