I really like what you "observed", Observer, probably from being an "Oldtimer", having seen the beginnings or knowing enough about them. That settles pretty much the thing about any "good old days"-reminiscence...however there is one drawback in your pretty good observation/question+answer: what advantage does TF still have compared to any sound church-group (even there a lot would fall through my personal screen of what I don't consider sound doctrine, falsely harboured by the various churches...long subject...): The problem was/is...TF was there, when we had all kind of questions, problems, thoughts etc. and the other groups weren't...ok, I also talked with Hare Krsna
people on the streets ("funny", they're still around, saw recently one in my little town on the walking street, talking to one middleaged lady)...but what alternative...alright, there was this old man passing out tracts, I figure now, he must have been from the brethren movement, but he passed the tracts out silently, thinking probably, that the writer says all much more eloquently.

I remember we witnessed openly in Nepal, when it actually was forbidden, you could have landed in jail...DTD we met many Christians who had come from the US or Commonwealth to witness clandestinely...

All I want to say is: TF was more "crazy" in its
approach...I wish other groups would have worked harder to reach us, but that's all the past now...people, like me, who had drifted very far from the Christian line were apparently not so easily "caught" by "normal" churches...just a thought.(Plus overseas - meaning Europe e.g. - the churches witnessed/witness "traditionally" less
than in the US, I suppose??)
