There's also a lot of verses about being happy and that God has a sense of humor - then there's that verse, a merry heart doeth good like a medicine. Humor and laughing is good for you even health wise and it's been proven scientifically. I think it would be miserable to have a God that had no sense of humor or limited his artistic and intelligent deductions to one book that's hopelessly misstranslated and hard to follow. Someone quipped to me today that their grandpa used to say whenever he was called to a Christian meeting that "Oh yeah, when two or three get together in my presence there shall be disagreements and division." And so, he'd get out of going to the meetings. You know, he was right because no one can agree on just what the bible says or means or what view of God or Jesus they should have. Look how all the wars are being fought over someone's belief in God, whether Muslim, Christian or otherwise. My point is, there's a lot of information in the world amongst all the crap that's just as Godly and worthwhile than what is in the Bible. I don't watch much TV, but neither am I afraid of it. My son reads Harry Potter. Heck, that's not much different than all the Disney movies I watched growing and none of them turned me into a witch. Banning such things is like the F. did when no one could wear anything with Disney on it because it was Satanic. We end up living in a world of fear. Did you know also that the Simpsons was given a stamp of approval by a Christian watch dog group? They liked it because no matter what happened to their Christian neighbors, their faith always remained in tact or bounced back. I think when these programs ridicule or mock Jesus or God, they are really mocking people's interpretations and the churches misshandling of the whole thing. So many Christians are so self righteous you couldn't touch them with a ten foot pole, that's not how I view God. Just my thoughts on the subect. I believe God wants us all to lighten up and enjoy life.
