I figured that would push your moral relativism button. Thanks for not disappointing me. In case you haven't noticed, the Old Testament is just that, Old. Judaism has learned from the past and moved on to better and brighter things. You would concede that, wouldn't you? If not, I guess it's hopeless to pull your head out of the sand. Also, I said SOME Christians, I realize not all were in agreement about slavery. However, the push went through and largely because of outspoken Christians who fought for the end of slavery. Who today still practices slavery? England, the U.S.? And as far as those indentured servants in other countries, what is your proposal to end such practices? Not shop at Wal-Mart? Not buy products from China? Not very realistic. And your point that Christians justified slavery through the bible is an excellent point. Look how all that changed. Do you know any Christians today realistically trying to advocate slavery as justified through the bible? No. Perfect example of Christianity growing up.
And for your information, a religion can be anything, even a belief in atheism is a religion. You can still be trapped by dogma without calling it God. I take issue with your last statement. I believe in God and Christianity and I feel quite free, thank you very much. Please, keep your trap to yourself.
