Well, if you don't know jack about Islamic interpretations of doomsday prophecy, then why do you take such issue over a historian's interpretations? I'm not really making a judgment about Lewis' interpretation (much to your chagrin), but I'm relating them to what TF is possibly thinking. All one has to do is listen to Mr. Ahmadinejad himself to get a clue about his beliefs. And not only him, but all the other fanatical Imams such as Bin Laden, the head of Hezbollah, etc., etc., etc. Is that so hard? It really doesn't take a "scholar" to get the idea.
I really don't care what you believe about Biblical prophecy, that wasn't where I was going in the conversation. I still don't understand why you are in such a tizzy over me quoting Lewis as to where the mindset of TF is at.
I'm just wondering, that's all. Don't you? Don't you want to know where they came up with this idea about August and piling up canned goods? I think I was in TF long enough to understand their way of thinking. Usually I can figure it out. Sometimes I'm wrong and way off, sometimes I'm spot on. I'm just bringing this up judging by some things I've seen and heard of lately.
