Well, Skeptic and I, finally, understood each other. He was making fun of, as he finally said, the “Jeane Dixon level” astrology. SO have I, as have the majority of others commenting on the subject, in order to mock the TFI mentality on the subject (TFI also ignored its historic demonic content).
I’ve actually studied the real subject extensively (I studied as many belief systems as I could find, post-TF, as part of my recovery), and did have something to offer, and it was easy to assume, from past exchanges, that he was mocking those who do NOT have an anti-supernatural bias.
We’re all still getting our sea legs on this one; now the theists and anti-theists are trying to learn to not offend each other. It turns out Sketic and I were both wrong, and that we can proceed, now, on a polite and friendly basis. No harm; no foul.
Next thing I know, “Swede” is butting in and is quite getting away with amazing so-called “joking” rudeness. I used a common word (“disingenuous”) and he mocked MY vocabulary (first).
I asked to be addressed on a polite and respectful basis, and he got worse.
He then re-introduced the "bait–the-Christian" topic, and his every response to me was mocking and quite rude, as I pointed out in detail, while still asking to start over, and to please keep it friendly and polite, IF he were looking for a friendly exchange; which option HE obviously had already rejected. I extended several opportunities. When he got ridiculous, I did defend myself, by pointing that out.
He mocked ME, with accusations of arrogance, lack of self-control, and so forth; first. I used hyperbole to make a point. I added a couple of jokes at the end. I was willing to start over, not to be run over with obvious rudeness, which I do not agree can be so easily glossed over as a result of his lack of language understanding and other communication problems of his. My posts say so.
I am multi-lingual. I have gone to the trouble of learning how not to offend people who don’t deserve it. Swede has apparently not. He stated that he would watch for when my opinion was, in his own words, "shit". So, why the double standard?
Is this WC; or not? I'm crying "foul", here.
I would say that our “misunderstandings” were about equal. I will assume that Swede gets no sanction, here; though. Why is that?
