I felt sad watching those videos, too. They've got talent, idealism, and the energetic optimism of youth. Such a waste on this endeavor, although it may very well prove to be an experience that opens their eyes as Achieck says. They're going to have to keep the old folks off the bus, though, so they can start opening up to what the Lord's own road has to teach them.
The business with the set card also bothers me. This is not a good way to learn scripture--it's mainly a way to get reinforced in Family doctrines, which don't have as strong a scriptural basis as the memorization of isolated proof texts would lead them to believe. On the other hand, if this is their first serious commitment to scripture, it may open the door to further understanding. I think one way to get people out of TF is for them to read and study the scriptures, particularly the NT, in their context.
