I think your tone is a bit combatative Farmer, but you make a valid point. In a post below, 'Getting Over Commanding God' I agreed that you not only have to take verses in context of the overall passage, but it helps to check with a modern translation. But I think the thots in some verses stand on their own. In context Rev. 3:20 was orginally spoken to believers but as you say the principle easily applies to non-believers opening their hearts to Jesus.

Yes, I think part of the Set Card was simply verses to get out a basic Christian message, Jn.3:16, Jn.3:36, Jn.15, Psalm 23, etc., but part of it was deliberately included to manipulate. Emphasizing an obscure verse like Matthew 10:36 (where the phrase 10:36ers came from) for e.g. 'Hate your parents' is another e.g.
