Regardless of whether America is going to "fall" or not, I thought it was interesting that that was his prerequisite. Why should one have to believe that America is going to fall sometime in the future to be able to be a prospective bride? This would leave me to believe that perhaps this person hasn't fully unloaded himself of F. baggage.

It is certainly predictable that America could fall one day as throughout history we see that most great civilizations eventually succumb to either another nation or inside forces. But who cares, it could be 50 years from now or 500 years from now, who knows. What this person fails to realize is how connected countries are to one another, like it or not. A lot of countries depend on each other and it wouldn't just be one country falling. So what is this person talking about - the end of the world, as we know it, maybe? I just think it's a F. way of thinking and it's no wonder then that he's having a hard time finding a bride. Unless, he wants someone who thinks negatively about the U.S. and wishes its demise. In that case, he should move to Berkeley.
