"A gay friend told me there are 3 kinds of people, gays, straights and the curious. I've been glad ever since, because 'the curious' catgegory really fits who I am. Berg is not a good reference point when it comes to homosexuality, as CB rightly says he had his own agenda. When he wrote anything about sex, mainly he was trying to find Biblical justifications for his own perversions. Of course most Bible believing Christians don't condemn homosexuals anymore, but they do call the practice of it a sin and if possible they try to, when they can, help the homos see the light and error of their ways. To make matters even worse for the state of my soul, not only do I believe that homosexuality is healthy if that's who you are, I believe more than ever in holistic health care, even though some people might say it's demonic, my wife has even earned a certificat in holistic reflexology, which is Chinese foot massage. We often buy books that are found on the New Age Spirituality shelf, some of them are the best self help books on the market. Of course there's tons of stuff there that doesn't interest me. Once I got rebuked here for expressing my beliefs in holistic alternative health care. That was a few years ago, and even though I haven't been here that much lately, I glad that the board has become place a safer place for those of us whose journey is not defined by Biblical beliefs."

MG:

I have never even been “curious”. While watching TV, I’ve joked with my wife about some guy seeming gay, and the next part of the shtick is for her to ask “Why?”, and for me to respond, “Because; he makes my pecker twitch, but just a little!”, as a mocking reference to Allen Ginsberg’s old allegation that “everyone’s a little gay”.

We went through some training for working with hospice care for gay men with AIDS at the church we attend, where I’ve gone for over 25+ years, having started to go there because another exer did; he led worship, and his Mom had written a book called “Snare of the Fowler”, detailing his COG experience, and exit.

Anyway, the training consisted, in part, of desensitizing to “dirty” sexual words, through the process of everybody, one by one, first naming “baby” words like “wee-wee”, and so on, progressing to decidedly adult words (a lot of the enquirers were pretty “churchy”—all from outside that particular fellowship. And, as we were trying to think of adult words, my wife said (and we were just newlyweds at the time), “Oh! I like “tallywhacker” (she meant as a good word choice not yet offered to the group). Before I realized it, I had jokingly said, “Boy! I can certainly vouch for that!”. Oops. A hush has descended on the room at her statement, making mine all the more obvious! Oops.

But, we’re certainly not prudes; our sex sin lists are long, and, thank God, they are totally in the past.

I agree with what both you and CB said about Berg and sex.

Now, how is it that you accept homosexuality as “healthy”. Please explain. I don’t follow. In an old ‘70s film, “I am curious—Yellow”, the protagonist was a supposed hetero obviously looking for his first homo experience. Is that what you mean when you say that you are curious?

I once wanted to work as a Physician Assistant in OR, and I have done so at a lesser capacity, and saw a lot of physical trauma. To that extent, I am “curious” as to what kind of trauma might be caused, I suppose, to a person inserting their penis into a half-hour shutoff milking machine hose, for medical reasons, but I can’t see putting MY tallywhacker into one! KNow what I mean? Good grief!

By your style of expression, can I assume that sexuality/homosexuality is a matter of low importance to you; MG? Is Christianity of the same consideration to you, at this time in your life?

If so, why? Is it your TF experience? What do you consider to be your journey, at this time in your life, since that’s the name of the board, and ostensibly its main purpose?

I’m familiar with the foot massage of which you speak. I got one, and it was one of the best foot massages I ever had; it left me literally tingling. It was great!

I was recently the recipient of an extremely dramatic healing of muscle collapse damage caused by Lipitor and Crestor (Rhabdomyolysis), given to me by an MD with homeopathic training, which I assumed was just stupid hippie medicine that was mostly-placcebo-like. It was not. It worked in less than one evening after my first dose, after a whole year of opiates for agonizing pain, after seeing literally 13 doctors in one year!

I use the term “integrative medicine” versus “wholistic/holistic”; though. Also, I was into Silva Mind Control, and several types of Yoga and psychic/occult stuff, and found out experientially it was demonic in its source of power, and abandoned it as a trap purposely set for me, by my worst enemy. So, I don't go for stuff simoply because someone gave it a "holistic" label. I found that that is a really bad idea.

Who rebuked you, and what was the nature of that rebuke, MG? Was it done self-righteously, or what? Who did it? Another poster? A Coordinator? I've been here a coupleof years, now.

Some spiritually stunted person posing as a giant? Tsk, tsk!

My experience here is that the board has changed, but only recently, into a place where a Bible-believing Christian can express himself or herself openly, within the posting rules, without getting lambasted by militant atheists and other Christian-haters, who were quite often backed up by similar-thinking Coordinators with their own agendas (not WC’s).

WC's done a fine job, especially recently, of redefining posting rules, and explaining things so that exer people of all persuasions can at least get along while politely and respectfully conversing.

I’ve been chewed up and spit out a couple of times myself! Welcome back; regardless of your beliefs!

Life’s a journey. Thank God the cult part’s over! Yay!

So, I’m glad that the board has ALSO become place a safer place for those of us whose journey is not defined by neo-pagan/anti-theistic beliefs. A hearty “Amen!” to that!

Sincerely,
OT2 (OldtimerToo)
