You mentioned that your journey has taken you into a lot of New Age practices. I don't know if you do Yoga or not. I have tried it since I have arthritis pretty bad and both the breathing exercises and the other ones are helpful.
I was looking at this site and one of the sayings at the top was to "Carry a list of desires" with you. I thought that was interesting but wasn't sure what to make of it. Here's the site:

I went through a yoga course for beginners but did not keep it up. I think consistency is one of my challenges. :P
