Byron, with search engines & the Internet so easy and available these days, and information at our fingertips if we only want it, I think there is no excuse for throwing out wild theories and hearsay as you have done above. After a 15-second search, this is what I found.
The Barbie doll was invented in 1959 by Ruth Handler (co-founder of Mattel), whose own daughter was called Barbara. Barbie was introduced to the world at the American Toy Fair in New York City. The doll was intended to be a teenage fashion doll. The Ken doll was named after Ruth's son.
First you said that 'doll' came from 'idol' and when I proved that incorrect, you made no comment. Again, with such easy access to information on the internet, there is no excuse for ignorance.
