microcosms

We're a microcosm of the world at large. Once a priest visited a unit for addicts and he was asking people to name different religions. Some said Catholic others said protestant, methodist, hindu, buddhist, Jewish, etc.
Then he made a point to say those were RELIGIONS and that Spirituality and Religion were not the same thing. A person with a religion can be very spirtual and so can an agnostic or an atheist or a buddhist or a jewish person AND religion was not a guarantee of spirituality.

The world is in major crisis and some of it goes back, once again to religion but not spirituality because with spirituality I think the world could look past the differences and identify the common needs.
The need to be tolerated for whomever we are regardless of how religion divides us.

After 911 when Neil Young sang this song, it really hit home with me and I was thinking of it tonight. I am writing anonymously because it is my wish that religion will not get in the way of spirituality and whether we believe like each other or not we can accept each other without a need for belief to cause war.

If I am secure in my belief I don't have to tell anyone where they are "wrong".
