You hit on another reason I was considering dividing Journeys into two boards, Journeys for the eclectic crowd, & a Christian board for the Christian crowd. As WC said below, each post is read by nearly 200 different people before they start checking our archives & articles.
On the note of stats, according to our logs, we have a huge readership... We have a heck of a lot of invisible or silent readers or rare posters. Most of our posts are accessed by at least a hundred to two hundred individual regular visitors, before they hit the archives.
I agree with those who say that NDN and other sites have boards that are largely Christian-oriented by default, so since they're filling that need, why reinvent the wheel? Why not just re-direct Christian posters there? Some people already frequent both sites. But the one thing this site has is quite a large amount of articles & research done that go deeper than posts & often these articles can help people in a real way.
Yes, I am very much thinking of people exiting the Family who are in the process of dumping Berg & trying to hang on to what is true, & the majority of exited posters out there who are largely Christian. Let's guesstimate that 150 of the regular 200 some readers would identify themselves as Christians. That's a significant constituency to consider.
If, in the process, Journeys becomes more of an inviting place for eclectics & the Christian board becomes more of an inviting place for Christians, that's all a plus.
